Friday Night Lights (quarter by quarter style)

I won't be able to do the touchdown by touchdown coverage of last week, but I'll try to get scores posted by the quarter.

Linn is up 20-6 over Wakefield at the end of the first quarter. Wakefield's only score came on a muffed snap (or something like that) which created an easy score for Wakefield.

I think my potential score announcers at the Clifton-Clyde, Hanover game might be having reception problems. I'll keep trying.

Hanover is leading Clifton-Clyde 34-8 with 40 seconds left in the first half.

Wakefield came back in the second quarter and the score is tied 20-20 at the end of the first half. Evidently there were many penalties, including one on Linn coach Shane Ohlde for throwing a clipboard! ;-)
Go get 'em Shane!

Linn pulled ahead in the third quarter. They are leading 40-20 at the beginning of the fourth and are threatening to score again at Wakefield's 10 yard line.

Does anyone have a cell phone number for someone at the Washington County homecoming game? I can't find Randy's from last week and I don't have a big collection of cell numbers.

Clifton-Clyde fell to Hanover at the beginning of the fourth quarter by a score of 54-8.
Big change from last year!

The Linn-Wakefield game is still 40-20. Linn through an interception at the two yard line.
However, the Bulldogs just intercepted Wakefield.

Eight people, out of 41 voters, correctly guessed Hanover would win by 16+ over Clifton-Clyde this week in a Backroads Newsroom poll.

Linn beat Wakefield 54-30. Early unofficial reports have Shaun Ohlde rushing for 380 yards on 54 carries. Will this mark beat his older brother's (and coach's) rushing record?
I'll have to check that out.
It'll be an interesting (and likely well-attended) game at Linn next Friday vs. Clifton-Clyde.

Washington beat Immaculat (sp?) 52-0 for homecoming.

Thanks. It's good to win homecoming. And it is "Immaculata".

Dan,
First off I want to say that I am not proud of getting the penality or my conduct at the time of the incident! Just wanted to state that for the record, but I will fight for my players until the end as they do for me.

As far as the records go, yeah I should have been talking to my stats guy ( jim Nutch ) and paying closer attention to make sure the didn't break them! Just kidding. As they say, records are ment to be broken and I couldn't be more proud of having my younger brother break them. Yeah, trust me I know hes by far a better player than I ever was, but I will never tell him that. The line for the most part did a great job of sticking on there blocks and creating running lanes for shaun to run through.

I am proud of the boys for fighting through adversity, we just have to learn how to finish off a team when they are down and get eliminate the mistakes
